What Do We Mean When We Talk About Creativity?
Main Article Content
Abstract
Thanks to contributions from different fields of knowledge and from creators’ own introspection, the concept of creativity has, over the years, gained in precision and complexity. Creativity helps explain relevant keys to behaviors of excellence; therefore, its contribution mainly informs us about the possibilities and problems generated around high performance.
However, creativity is defined as a universal trait and also refers directly to everyday existential and work-related patterns. In our experience as researchers, having found a method for assessing differences in creativity, we have also brought the lens of science somewhat closer to this human dimension. Finally, by bringing together what creative individuals and researchers have been saying for years with our own perspective, we arrive at a result that is, at the same time, a wager concerning what we speak about when we speak about creativity.
Creating involves multiple dimensions; but the basic element, the first step in creativity, is to formulate questions.
