Dispersion of Ceramic Fragments and the Formation of Unit 1 at the Tilcara Site (SJuj Til.1)

Abstract
This paper presents a preliminary study of the ceramic material from Unit 1 of the Corrales sector of the urbanized settlement SJuj Til 1, known as Pucará de Tilcara, located in the middle sector of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, province of Jujuy. Oriented toward the study of site formation processes, the paper presents the objectives and methodology employed in this research and reports the first results, on the basis of which we argue for the need not only to accept the importance of such processes but also to act upon them in archaeological research.
