Abstract

In this word I present and discuss the theorical methodological tools that I have used to interpret the archeological site Cruz Vinto, situated in the Peninsula of Colcha «K», to the north of Lípez, Potosí, Boliva. It is a Pukara that lies strategically on a plateau with a wide Salar de Uyuni view, that had occupations during the late Regional Period of development (1200 – 1450 AD).
My objective is to confront two interpretations, on the one hand social practices carried out by the site inhabitants, and how they built recursively a social scenery in which they made reference to their ancestors and through them made reference to cooperative groups they materialized. In a complementary way, I present analysis and interpretation of Cruz Vinto constructed space, considerating part of the structural conditions the social agents counted upon a time of interaction. I also consider the way in which the domestic space structure and activities are related to the production and reproduction of a habitus is linked with a practical logic and also founded in cooperativism.

Finally, I discuss the possibility of carrying out an «archeology of practice» from materials culture developed in the site by means of integrating social practices, considering the concept of incorporation an all the mechanisms of social reproduction in illiterate societies
