INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN THE SCHOOL
Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic piece of paper details the research project work on "Information and Communication Technologies in the School", which is currently being developed at Instituto de Formación Docente Nº 6, in Chivilcoy, Bs. As.
There exists a certain amount of agreement on the need to apply ICTs in the school sceneario, though it has been recognized that the main obstacle found is to transform that accord into concrete didactic procederes. For this, it is necessary to appraise varied present pieces of educational discourse to know what sorts of courses of action tend to foster or block, encourage or discourage, in this context.
Existing social meanings about subjects (students and educators), ICTs and the knowledge about the school will be analyzed, having as a criteria the building of a representative corpus of the discursive plurality. The concept of "possible semiotic world/s" allows us to deal with the contrast among the representations of the different social actors, and explain the interactions between the juvenile interpretations and the educators' ones. Cognitive semiotic and discourse analysis are assumed as the methodological perspective where to design the research work from. When recognizing the constructive power of the diverse social dicourses, it is stated that distinct discoursive formations (Foucault 1970) shape distinct objects and social practices.
As a contribution to this investigation, from "La universidad de la calle", it is proposed to explore both, pedagogic-intitutionalized behaviours, as well as those extra-institutional ones, which emerge and develop in connection to the acquired knowledge in the work with ICTs. Moreover, the evaluation of the possible influence of ICTs into the improvement of educational practices and the construction of individual and collective learning strategies are to be considered.
