The Teaching of Mathematics and Its Methodological Construction at the University Level
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the general aspects and progress made to date in a research project developed by teachers from the Mathematics Area of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the National University of Jujuy. The proposal arises from an interest in investigating the teaching methodologies favored in the courses that make up this area, in view of the need to generate systematized information, modes of interpretation, and inputs for an appropriate critical intervention in teaching practice itself.
To this end, the following specific objectives are proposed: to gather information on the teaching methodologies most frequently used in classroom practices within the aforementioned context; to analyze and understand the didactic foundations of these methodologies; and to develop specific productions derived from didactic reflection.
In light of the theoretical framework adopted, the study proposes to collect primary data provided by teachers and students through specifically designed instruments. As secondary sources, the planning documents of the courses will be examined. A mixed quantitative-qualitative methodological approach will be applied to process the information.
Through the interpretation of the results obtained, the study is expected to account for the epistemological and didactic structure of the discipline being taught and to strengthen the methodological constructions used, with the aim of enhancing students’ learning.
