Cultural Hybridization in Juan Ahuerma Salazar’s Narrative Production

Abstract
This paper is part of a research project on Salta writing in the 1990s. The narrative production of Juan Ahuerma Salazar was analyzed with the aim of contrasting it with the “canonical” literature of Salta. To approach this production, two theories from different frameworks were brought into play: García Canclini’s cultural theory and Angenot and Robin’s theory of social discourse and its textualization.
The analysis of the procedures used in this narrative made it possible to confirm the hypothesis of its discursive hybridization and its consequent rupture with the dominant realist canons in narrative writing from Salta. In conclusion, a paradigm shift can be inferred within the regional sphere, coexisting with the demystification of historical discourse carried out in “national” and “Latin American” literature.
