Abstract
One of the points of this research is to understand the perspective held by residents of the city of Jujuy about what it means university of the street, as well as the differents learning acquired.
This document will show some results of analysis of the interviews from a group of people of the principal City of Jujuy, in order to establish what are the existing semantic ratings.
The methodology is based on operations from semiotics and discourse analysis, to identify, the “discursive formations” (Michel Foucault, 1969: 44-54), with which the community constructs meanings about the phenomenons that circulate in a given time and society. This type of analysis will, through the textual, to observe how a group of people builds and evaluates a social phenomenon, in this case ‘University of the Street’.
The corpus used consists in a determinated numbers of interviews from the Jujuy community. The selection criterion was taken from variables such as age, sex, profession or occupation, without establishing a rigid parameter and encased in a classification. The objective of these interviews was to compile effective opinions, in orden to analyze the different conceptions of this phenomenons. To do this, they resorted to the following questions: what is for you “the University of the Street”?, and what do you learn from “the university of the street”?, Do you remember any particular learning situation?
The results of the analysis of the interviews show us that “the university of the street” is conceived of several ways: as a place where experiences can only acquire certain skills that help to live or survive in this vast area of permanent relationships, a place of acquisition knowledge outside the formal (school, college), the place of everyday learning, among others.
