Individual, Knowledge, and Society: Piaget’s Genetic Psychology of Intelligence and the Intercultural Perspective

Abstract
This paper brings together a series of reflections on Piaget’s psychogenetic theory and the intercultural perspective.
In order to achieve the proposed objective and contextualize the topic, a brief overview is offered of the stages of intellectual development proposed by Piaget. From there, the paper goes on to examine the role played in the theory by the influence of the social factor, particularly with regard to educational and cultural transmission, and then addresses the perspective of intercultural research.
On the other hand, the analysis seeks to highlight the scope and limitations of comparative research in genetic psychology, as well as the methodological problems faced by intercultural cognitive research.
