EVALUACIÓN DE MARCADORES MÉTRICOS DEL SEXO EN LA COLECCIÓN HISPANOINDÍGENA DE LA FALDA (SJ Til. 43), TILCARA, JUJUY

En este trabajo se presentan los resultados del estudio de la expresión del dimorfismo sexual en variables métricas postcraneanas en la Colección de La Falda (SJ Til. 43). El conjunto es cronológica y culturalmente asignable al Período Hispano-Indígena I y se caracteriza por su notorio grado de integridad y asociación contextual. Las inclusiones funerarias permiten asimismo identificar el sexo de los individuos. En su conjunto, La Falda se compone de un total de treinta y un individuos entre maduros e inmaduros. En esta experiencia se considera exclusivamente la información correspondiente a los huesos largos de diecisiete individuos adultos. Los resultados permiten observar que los valores métricos relevados (longitudes de los huesos largos y diámetros de las cabezas humeral y femoral) se segregan claramente entre ambas categorías sexuales, permitiendo un buen reconocimiento y asignación del sexo en los individuos. Esta observación se corresponde con los resultados obtenidos en experiencias anteriores, donde se emplearon otros marcadores de identificación sexual (i.e. morfología de cráneo y pelvis). La información recuperada permite considerar a los individuos de La Falda como pertenecientes a una población con clara expresión del dimorfismo sexual adulto en sus integrantes.
